Xinyi Lin always wants to learn new things and live different experiences. This year, she has just fulfilled her dream of learning how to sky dive, experiencing sensations that she has never felt before. In her career too, Xinyi has got the same attitude. She started studying business in China, where she was born, and then she went to the US as part of her undergraduate studies. After that she decided to go to Paris to graduate, it was also a way for her to discover a new culture.
One year ago, Xinyi came to Scality as an intern and now she is a regular member of the human resource team. For her first job, Xinyi couldn’t find a better place to satisfy her love of diversity. Her role is to help Scality to attract the best talents and once people are recruited to teach them about all the things the start-up can offer and how they can evolve within the company. In order to do this, she organises workshops, works on communication materials for different websites and develops new on-boarding tools. “I never get bored. Every two weeks, I’m working on a totally different project, I really enjoy that,” she says.
However, it was a bit challenging at first for Xinyi. With so many projects in hand, she had to learn the art of multitasking and the ability to define her priorities. But Xinyi, who is highly focused and passionate about her job, soon became a lot more confident. Now, she enjoys having more autonomy at work, whilst she never hesitates to ask her colleagues or her manager for help or advice, so that she can improve. “Xinyi is a rare find, she is intelligent, sensible and adaptable in all situations,” says her manager.
Today, Xinyi is really happy in her role. She feels proud of being part of a team that is building a really strong company culture and she doesn’t plan on slowing down. “There is still a lot to do and I want to contribute even more to the company’s success in the future,” she concludes.
